Blackfriars

Blackfriars is our much-loved local and as it's only a short stumble down the street there are no excuses for not visiting.

It consists of a bar and restaurant next door to each other (and linked by a corridor underneath the building so make sure you turn the right way out of the loos!)

The bar is very chilled out and convivial. You can almost always get a seat, and can converse without having to bellow over loud music. They have a small but carefully chosen, and ever-changing, selection of beers (as well as wines / whiskeys etc.) and the bar snacks are great (the pork pies are to die for!)

If you want a full meal then just head next door to the restaurant which has been getting some great reviews ever since it opened earlier this year.
